Obituary for Ruth Chapman
Ruth Chapman, 80, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at her home. She was born August 30, 1940, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, the daughter of Ona Jane and Forest Ray Russell. On June 10, 1956, Ruth married Johnnie Noel Chapman who preceded her in death on May 24, 2019 after 63 years of marriage. Ruth was a member of Brownstown First Baptist Church and an avid reader. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed making quilts and was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful homemaker. Ruth is survived by her children, Pam Toppe, Bev (Fred) Underwood, Rhonda Chapman and Mendy (John) Ferguson; grandchildren, Chadd Bryant, Chris Bryant, Kim (Nathan) Michaels, Kasey (Daron) Prewitt, Clayton (Calli) Ferguson, Kyle Ferguson, and Carson Ferguson; and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Conner, and one brother Glen (Margie) Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnnie, and sisters Enola Woolridge, Gladys Dunbar, Mary Skaggs, Kit Skaggs, Janice Rowland and Agnes Miller; two brothers, Bill Russell and Forest Russell Jr. Services will be conducted Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown with Rev. Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home after 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. All services have been entrusted to the caring staff of Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown. Due to Covid-19, we continue to follow CDC Guidelines which stipulate that facemasks and social distancing are required at all times during visitations and services.
