Obituary for Linda Sue Guthrie
Linda Sue Guthrie, 64, of Brownstown peacefully slipped away from her earthly body and into the arms of our Lord at 12:37am on August 6th, 2020. She was born May 25, 1956, in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of the late Robert Henderson and Ordella I. (Kent) Ferguson. Linda married Kenny A. Guthrie on September 10, 1977, at Kurtz Church of the Nazarene, and he survives. Linda was a member of Faith Southern Baptist Church in Milport. She worked many years as a Medical Assistant for Dr. Baker and Dr. Childress. Linda loved her family and spending time with them above all. She especially loved the holidays, decorating the house for Christmas and her Grandson staying with her on Christmas Eve. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, never missing a game or event for her daughter or grandson. She is survived by her husband, her daughter, Angie (Nathan) Patman, grandson, Brendan Scott Patman, sisters, Marie (Sam) Mills, Rita Mae (Mike) Nelson, Barbara (Jr.) Achelpohl, Roberta (Michael) Brewster and Julie (Roger) Whitsett; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be conducted Sunday, August 9, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown with Jason Cooper and Nathan Patman officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 6 PM and Sunday after 12 Noon until time of service. Burial will follow at White River Valley Cemetery. We welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines. Anyone 65 or older or with high-risk health conditions is encouraged to remain home; face coverings in public are required. You may be asked to wait outside the building if we exceed the recommended capacity in compliance with the current Indiana COVID-19 mandate. We encourage you to share your support with the family, being cognizant that others wish to do the same. Memorials may be made to Faith Southern Baptist Church or donor’s choice.
