Obituary for John F. McCrary
John F. McCrary, age 63, of Vallonia, passed away on June 24, 2018. He was born June 1, 1955 in Seymour to Claude Raymond and Dorothy Cripe McCrary.
John was a graduate of Brownstown Central High School and Purdue University. He retired in 2016 from the Indiana Department of Transportation, where he was an engineer. He loved music and singing, and was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church, where he also was a member of the praise team. John enjoyed all sports and was a huge community advocate. He was also treasurer for the Driftwood Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his children; John F. (Danielle) McCrary II, Joshua D. (Susan) McCrary, Kyle A. (Alicia D.) McCrary, and Blake W. (Haileigh M.) McCrary. John is also survived by his grandchildren; Abram K. McCrary, Easton A. McCrary, Makenna K. McCrary, Emerson G. McCrary, Aden P. McCrary, Tucker R. McCrary, Erin E. Cole, Emily J. Yardy, and Megan M. Jett, two great grandchildren; Finnegan E. Yardy and Theo R. Cole, two brothers; David McCrary and Steve McCrary, and one sister; Susan (Mike) Spurgeon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Brownstown Christian Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown, under the direction of Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m until time of service Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to The Brownstown Christian Church Youth Ministry.
