Obituary for Jack Chester Wilson
Jack Chester Wilson, 82 of Brownstown, passed away in his home of 55 years listening to gospel music by his favorite artist The Hag with his family surrounding him in love on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 9:44 AM. He was born on 08/27/1936, the son of the late Hollis Raymond and Grace Evelyn (Heller) Wilson.
Jack married Florence Marie Wischmeier on February 12, 1960 and she preceded him in death on September 13, 2003
Jack was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers. He was a 1956 graduate of Brownstown High School and served in the National Guard for 8 years. His work ethics was outstanding as he started at a young age helping farmers on their farms. He worked at Gardner Box and was a lineman for the Jackson County Rural Electric from 1964 thru 2001. There were times he worked three jobs Lee’s Marathon Station, hauling shucks to the Morgan Canning Factory and REMC. He enjoyed every hour of working these jobs.
Jack was an avid outdoor man who enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and especially squirrel and coon hunting. He took pleasure in watching his grandchildren playing sports. Jack was a NY Yankees fan and a Brownstown Brave fan for many years, and a big fan of Merle Haggard.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Lee (John W.) Tormoehlen; 4 grandchildren, Brooke N (John) Cahill, Brandon W (Mallory) Tormoehlen, Jaclyn M. (Nathan) Jackson, Whitney R (Kagney) Fritz; 8 great-grandchildren Madeline G. and Henry “Hank” W Cahill, Annalise M. Isaac N.and Raniya Jackson and Garrison R., Graham R. and Gustus R. Fritz; two sisters Jennola McClara and Deborah (Sandy) Carroll; in-laws Robert and Violet Wischmeier, Wayne and Rita Wischmeier, Flora and Michael Wheeler, Randy and Sandy Wischmeier and several nieces and nephews & great nieces and nephews and his special group he called “my boys, my buddies”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his sister Marilyn Maschino and brother in laws; Tony Maschino and Tom McClara.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church Sauers with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the BCHS Braves Baseball, St. John’s Lutheran Church or Schneck Medical Center Home Health and Hospice through Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home.
