Obituary for Earlene Swegles
Earlene Swegles, age 88, of Brownstown, passed away March 4, 2019. She was born May 2, 1930 to the late, Guy Johnson and Minnie Hurley Johnson in Brownstown.
Earlene was a 1948 graduate of Brownstown Central High School. She was an avid reader, and loved taking care of babies, especially her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She loved her family and will always be remembered for having a “big heart”.
Mrs. Swegles was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Martin Johnson, and Guy Johnson, Jr.; sisters: Jennie Anne Schleter, Effie Sciarra, Thelma Frey; husbands: Ray Carr, Mike Dimancheff, and Gary Swegles.
She is survived by her son, Lincoln (Maria) Carr; daughter, Cathy Stroudenmire; grandchildren: Ronald Lee (Karaya) Biggs, Jr., Searlait Rose Carr, Brigid Louise Carr; great-grandchildren: Ronald Lee Biggs III, Karaya JoLeigh Biggs, Taylor LeMonroe Biggs; brother, John Peter (Helen) Johnson
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Pogue officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be written to Brownstown Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home.
