Obituary for David L. Thompson
David L. Thompson, 54 of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. He was born March 8, 1966, the son of the late Billy Dean “Bill” and Donna (Greathouse) Thompson. David married Nelva Maria Thompson at Ratcliff Grove Christian Church on December 27, 1986, and she survives. David was a member of Brownstown Christian Church. He was the Manager of the Bean Mill Plant at Rose Acre Farms for many years. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Kabota. When he was younger, he loved to ride four wheelers. Everyone called him the “Mayor of Thompson Hill”. He was well known for rescuing people out of the ditch on Thompson Hill in the winter. One of his favorite things was cutting wood with his grandson. He especially enjoyed cooking hog roasts for family, birthdays and friends’ weddings. He truly loved his grandchildren; his family was his life. His special love was his wife, his one and only true love, whom he adored. He is survived by his wife, children, Felipe (Trina) Marin, Maria Irene Thompson, Shanty (Jeremy) Morrow, Cheyenne (Boyfriend – Emmet) Thompson, and Christian “CL” Thompson; grandchildren, David Couch, Jason Marin, Aeriel Morrow, Laine Morrow, Hayley Morrow, Ethan Marin, Aden McCrary, Briar Marin and Tucker McCrary; brother, James (Mary) Thompson and sister, Debra Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill “Deanie” Thompson and sister, Patty Thompson. Services will be conducted Monday, August 31, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Brownstown Christian Church with burial to follow at Freetown Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday after 9:00 AM until time of service. We welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines. Face coverings in public are required. We encourage you to share your support with the family, being cognizant that others wish to do the same. Memorials may be made to Brownstown Christian Church in care of Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home.
