Charlotte Louise Lucas Dickinson, 95 of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018. She was born April 14, 1923, to the late Charles W. and Ida Lee McKain Lucas.
Charlotte married Lt. Col. Werner L. Dickinson on March 9, 1944, who preceded her in death on December 19, 1964.
She attended Brownstown High School and Purdue University and worked as a Teachers Aide at Brownstown Central High School from 1965 until 1988. Charlotte was a Charter Member of Brownstown Epsilon Phi Chapter of Tri Kappa and a member of Brownstown United Methodist Church where she was the longest baptized continuous member. She loved attending Sunday School and worship service at Brownstown United Methodist Church. Throughout her life, Charlotte lived in Brownstown, Indianapolis, Alexandria, VA; Texarkana, TX; Elwood, IL; Fort Richardson, AK; and Germany
She is survived by her children, Steve (Donna) Dickinson, Lucinda (David) Lewis, Linda Hukill and Anna Marie Dickinson; grandchildren, Andrew Wulf, Jennifer (Chad) Korff, Ben (Sarah) Lewis, Amy (Chad Lawson) Dickinson and Lucas (Shandi) Dickinson; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Lawson, Meredith Lewis, Emily Lewis and Raven Dickinson; sister, Virginia Elstrod, sister-in-law, Georgia Hamer Lucas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, James A. Lucas and sister, Elizabeth Sage.
Services will be conducted Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown, Indiana. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brownstown United Methodist Church.
